The Role:
We are seeking 2 motivated individuals of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent to join our team as an Apprentice Heavy Vehicle Mechanic. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in mechanics or vehicle maintenance. The Apprentice Mechanic will receive comprehensive training and mentorship to develop the skills necessary to succeed in this role.
You will be selected to work at either Smeaton Grange or Bradbury.
Key Responsibilities:

* Assist Tradesmen on routine servicing of bus fleet.
* Assist Tradesmen in completing unscheduled repairs and maintenance.
* Assist Tradesmen in completing annual pre-inspection of vehicles for TfNSW inspection.
* Assist Tradesmen in completing servicing of workshop equipment as required.
* Complete training modules and assignments in a timely manner
* Maintain a diary of all relevant training modules, to assist in completing apprentice training
* Report to the Workshop Manager or Workshop Supervisor prior to commencement of shift and completion of shift.
* Any other duties as required.

* Willingness to learn and keen interest in mechanics
* Ability to work positively in a team
* Good problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative under
* Adequate fitness level for moderately physical outdoor
* Professional attitude and
* Ability to obtain necessary clearances (security, medical).
* Car & License
* Pass a Police Check
