About the role
This role sits in our Marketing Advisory team and is integral in helping Woolworths manage upcoming regulatory reform and prepare for change in the marketing and privacy space as well as ensure we always act in line with our customer expectations. It is a key in continuing to drive our marketing compliance and customer trust goals and strategic priorities, ensuring we do the right thing and improve our processes, procedures, standards, guidance and training in this important area. In addition, it will help manage a number of control activities across central standards and best practice documentation, plus have a focus on our Data, Digital and Loyalty areas to ensure optimal commercial, legal and customer outcomes.
Key responsibilities
5. Deliver key foundational and strategic priorities in our Privacy & Customer Trust framework
6. Support best practice systems and processes to enhance digital marketing governance and standards.
7. Provide thought leadership and dissemination of information as an expert in the field
8. Conducting Marketing Impact Assessments (MIAs). Includes advising on business and compliance requirements for business unit teams, plus customer consent/preferences (opt in/outs) with respect to customer campaign execution
9. Support the development and implementation of the Privacy Critical Controls Framework and partnering with our WX and Group Risk team
10. Act as a custodian of the Group Spam Act Compliance Standards and associated standards/best practice documentation
11. Support the strategic direction for marketing compliance risk uplift across the Group
12. Effective governance and implementation of Spam Act based Incident Management processes, including root cause analysis, including reporting of related complaints and breaches
13. Preparedness for future regulatory changes and impacts to the business
14. Create key alignment with new technical capability and IT/system developments, which is underpinned by a Technology Quality Assurance Compliance Framework embedded across WooliesX
15. Implement required improvements of the Spam Act Licence To Operate e-learning module
You will deliver these objectives through:
16. Recommend, develop and support best practice in conjunction with Legal teams to manage change as a result of regulatory changes
17. Build and develop relationships with key senior stakeholders across the Group to influence and implement effective collaboration
18. Delivering key areas of our Group Spam Act Compliance Standards including decision making processes and escalation pathways, roles and responsibilities, associated training and awareness activities and communications
19. Management of key standards, procedures and guidelines documentation for marketing compliance
20. Supporting teams to deliver key marketing & privacy capabilities to ensure risks effectively understood and managed responsibly
21. SME contribution to particular cross-functional working groups where required
22. Providing guidance support on direct marketing related obligations and other relevant non-legal considerations
23. Support to reporting, trend analysis and evaluation of key initiatives to enhance and drive continual improvement
24. Supporting the development and delivery of general training programs and their ongoing enhancement
25. Significant stakeholder engagement across all levels of WooliesX, Woolworths Group and ecosystem partners
About you
You are a strong team player with ability to work cross-functionally and manage a large number and variety of stakeholders and competing priorities. You have a natural passion for process and excellent organisation and communication skills.
Key requirements
26. 5+ years of relevant experience in positions across Digital Marketing, CRM/Loyalty operations, Compliance or Governance fields
27. Strong experience of working with Legal teams, Solutions Architects and Database/IT Support teams
28. Project management skills and experience
29. Ability to deconstruct complex problems, identify direct relevance towards both legal and commercial objectives
30. Proficiency in Microsoft and Google suite of applications
Further desirable experience
31. Experience in audits and/or working with external consultants
32. Experience in Agile methodologies
33. Experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud
34. Proficient knowledge of Privacy Act, Australian Privacy Principles, OAIC guidance
35. Privacy experience in the areas of marketing communications and advertising technology highly desirable
36. Risk Management experience
37. Extensive experience in Marketing Operations with a solid understanding of the legislative and regulatory landscape that governs how we interact with our customers for promotional purposes
