We are seeking a Network Engineer to support the business-as-usual (BAU) operation, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise network services built on Extreme Networks technologies. This role combines hands-on network operations with automation and programming capabilities to ensure high availability, performance, and security of network services, while improving operational efficiency and reducing manual effort across BAU activities.
Ideal candidates will have strong experience in enterprise network operations, a solid understanding of Extreme Networks platforms, and a proactive approach to automation and service improvement.
Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day BAU support for enterprise LAN, WLAN, and campus network environments.
* Monitor network performance and availability, responding to incidents, problems, and service requests in line with SLAs.
* Perform fault isolation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for complex network issues.
* Execute standard BAU changes (adds, moves, and changes) through formal change management processes.
* Participate in on-call and after-hours support rosters as required.
* Configure, maintain, and support Extreme Networks platforms, including ExtremeXOS and Fabric Connect / SPB.
* Manage switching and routing services including VLANs, IP addressing, routing protocols, QoS, and redundancy.
* Perform firmware upgrades, patching, and lifecycle maintenance during approved BAU change windows.
* Support network capacity planning and incremental network expansions.
* Develop and implement automation and scripting solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
* Contribute to operational documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
Requirements
* 5+ years' experience in BAU network operations or network engineering roles.
* Experience supporting complex, high-availability enterprise networks.
* Demonstrated ability to stabilise environments and improve efficiency through automation.
* Strong understanding of LAN, WLAN, and campus network architectures.
* Experience with Extreme Networks technologies, including ExtremeXOS and Fabric Connect / SPB.
* Familiarity with ITIL-aligned service management processes.
* Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively within hybrid and cross-functional teams.
Desirable Experience
* Extreme Networks certifications (ECE, ECSE).
* Experience in managed services, NOC, or 24x7 operational environments.
* Exposure to regulated or mission-critical environments.
* ITIL Foundation or similar operational certification.
