About The Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our Integrated Defence & Autonomous Systems Business Unit. This role is based at Melbourne, Vic, but we are flexible with the location for the right candidate.
The Project Engineer supports the planning, design, execution, and completion of engineering projects by coordinating technical activities, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and facilitating communication between design, build, and manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in developing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
* Coordinate engineering design, procurement, and build activities to ensure alignment with project objectives.
* Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and progress updates.
* Review design drawings, specifications, and calculations for accuracy and compliance with standards.
* Participate in quality assurance and control processes, inspections, and audits.
* Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure effective project communication.
* Monitor project progress and assist in identifying risks, variances, and mitigation strategies.
* Support cost estimation, procurement, and contract administration activities.
About You
* Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or related discipline).
* Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
* Some proficiency in project management and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, or Primavera).
* Self‑motivation, strong technical depth in the relevant discipline, strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
* Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
* Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
