The Role
As the Senior Accountant, you will take ownership of financial accounting, reporting and day-to-day finance operations within a lean team.
This is a hands-on financial control role, responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely reporting, while also improving processes and supporting the broader business.
You will act as the key link between transactional finance and senior leadership, stepping in as the escalation point and driving technical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own the full month-end close process (journals, reconciliations, P&L delivery)
* Maintain balance sheet integrity across multiple entities
* Prepare and coordinate statutory financial statements and audit requirements
* Oversee AP, AR and payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance
* Support joint ventures, project bank accounts and trust accounting structures
* Assist with multi-entity reporting and consolidations
* Drive improvements in financial processes, controls and reporting timelines
* Support GPFS Tier 2 readiness and compliance requirements
* Provide hands-on support, mentoring and guidance to junior finance staff
* Act as the primary escalation point for finance operations
What We're Looking For
Technical:
* CA or CPA qualified (or close to completion)
* 5+ years' experience in a commercial accounting role
* Strong experience owning month-end and financial reporting processes
* Experience in multi-entity environments and balance sheet management
* Exposure to construction, project-based or similar complex environments highly regarded
* Understanding of accounting standards (e.g. AASB 15 & 16)
* Experience with statutory reporting (GPFS) preferred
