Summary of Position
To provide samples to Solina's Foodservice, Retail, and Industrial customers. The incumbent will be responsible for managing incoming raw material from the plant, blending (seasoning, sauce and dressings) and shipping of samples and documentation of activities. Also to provide support with general cleaning duties in the lab.
Essential Functions
* Follows all blending procedures (dry seasoning, sauce and dressings) for fulfilling sample requests for internal and external customers including the recording of lot numbers.
* Follows procedures to assure a clean, safe and organized R&D lab.
* Maintains raw material ingredient/ packaging supply for the lab by ordering ingredients from the plant and documenting the material lot numbers for traceability.
* Maintains cleanliness of the sample department lab, and cleans equipment as required.
* Maintains labeling, storage and handling of raw materials for allergen compliance in the lab.
* Responsible for cleaning the refrigerators and freezers.
* Provides support for the analytical testing results and providing information to the technologist.
* Maintains other records for internal needs as required.
* Processes shipping/receiving paperwork online for FedEx or UPS shipments, including tracking of shipments to support the lab.
* Calibrates equipment and instruments.
* Dishes including washing, sanitizing, drying and storing them.
* Other duties as assigned by the direct manager.

* Moisture oven
* Blender

* Viscometer
* Brookfield Viscometer
Preferred Qualifications
* High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with no assistance.
* Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
* Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and achieve effective time management.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
Additional Skills
Sense of urgency & ability to meet deadlines; self-directed, effective communication skills.
Working Conditions
* Typically sits for extended periods at a computer workstation.
* May access and work in the manufacturing plant.
* Required to travel.
* May be required to work weekends to meet department and business demands.
* Knows that safety shoes are recommended in the plant area.
