About the role
The Senior State Manager – Programs is a critical leadership role in Western Australia responsible for the strategic and operational management of a portfolio of state-wide programs that support:
- the participation and inclusion of migrants in transition (aligned with the migration sub-strategy)
- individual and community resilience, preparedness and recovery (aligned with the emergency services sub-strategy)
The Senior State Manager – Programs is responsible for brokering local, regional, and state sector, community and government collaborations and partnerships to advance Red Cross’ strategic and revenue generation objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for WA state-wide programs related to migration and resilience, preparedness and recovery.
- Broker and manage collaborations with local, regional, state sector, community and government partners to advance Red Cross’ objectives.
- Lead and develop teams, foster continuous improvement in program delivery, and monitor performance and impact using data-driven approaches.
- Represent Red Cross in stakeholder engagements, ensuring strong external relationships and organisational reputation.
About you / Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will possess strong stakeholder engagement skills and be proficient in collaboration, resource planning and prioritisation, leadership and strategic planning. You will demonstrate:
- Well-developed cultural competency and ability to lead teams from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to develop and maintain external relationships to maximise collaboration opportunities.
- Understanding of issues affecting people impacted by migration and their vulnerabilities and strengths.
- Understanding of community resilience, preparedness, and recovery program models in emergencies and disasters.
- Ability to research and analyse complex information to optimise program approaches.
- Data-driven approach to monitor performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Ability to work effectively in a national matrix management structure and lead teams in continuous improvement.
- Proven leadership, with strong communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to engage and build relationships within teams.
- Knowledge and experience in delivering programs to consumers from diverse backgrounds (including First Nations, CALD and LGBTQIA+).
- Ability to work with limited direction from manager.
- Strong reporting, editing, and presentation skills.
