About the Role
Senior Wellbeing Peer
, part of the new Toowoomba Integrated Mental Health Hub, is a key leadership role drawing on lived experience of recovery to lead a dedicated Wellbeing Team. This part-time (3 days per week) position pays SCHADS Level 4 ($***** per hour) with salary packaging and leave loading.
About the Team
The Toowoomba Integrated Mental Health Hub provides integrated stepped care, transforming mental health and wellbeing support across Queensland via seamless, free and voluntary services built on no wrong door, community inclusion and consumer choice.
About You
You will bring your own lived experience of recovery and leadership skills to guide a passionate team of DBS and community engagement workers in supporting people affected by mental illness, psychological distress and addiction.
You should have personal experience of mental illness or psychological distress and recovery, and comfortable sharing personal experiences with program consumers in a safe and supported way.
Leadership experience in the health or community services sector, especially within mental health or community-based support roles with lived experience, is highly valued.
Main responsibilities
Provide leadership, coaching and supervision to a team of peer workers.
Meet reporting requirements.
Deliver intentional peer support.
Offer one-on-one service navigation and care planning.
Build capacity within the workforce, participants and community.
Support engagement with clinical supports.
Carry a small caseload of participants as needed.
Requirements
Personal experience of mental distress and recovery, having accessed and navigated health services including mental health services.
Cert IV/Diploma in Peer Work, Mental Health, AOD, or related field, or a tertiary qualification in social science, or 1+ year relevant work experience in the mental health sector, or International Peer Support Training.
Two years of mental health experience as a peer worker.
National Police Check.
Current Working with Children Check – employment.
NDIS Workers Screening check.
Evidence of right to work in Australia.
100 points of identification.
NDIS Workers Orientation module certificate – free online course.
