Offer description

* Location: Sydney (Hybrid – 50% in office)
* Duration: 6–12 Month Contract
* Start: ASAP
* Critical Project Skills: Data Analysis, Database Administration, Helpdesk Analyst I/II, Desktop Application Testing

We are looking for 9 talented Administrators to join a high-profile Data Collection Management team within a leading Australian financial regulatory body. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a meaningful role at the heart of Australia's financial services sector, ensuring accurate and timely data is collected from regulated and non-regulated institutions.

Working in a hybrid model (50% in the Sydney office), you will support the collection, collation, and quality assurance of financial data while engaging with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders — including industry bodies, the Reserve Bank of Australia, and the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Key Responsibilities
* Ensure financial institutions meet their reporting obligations on time.
* Develop an in-depth understanding of the Financial Sector (Collection of Data) Act 2001 to ensure all statutory obligations are met.
* Provide efficient and effective enforcement of the Act using proportionate and targeted approaches to achieve high levels of compliance.
* Determine appropriate methods for ensuring data quality is fit for purpose.
* Contribute to the development of actions to effectively monitor and mitigate issues as they are identified.
* Build and maintain effective working relationships across multiple internal teams, including frontline supervisors and risk specialists.
* Ensure industry data is protected in accordance with relevant secrecy provisions.
* Use MS Excel to process, analyse and manage data sets.
* Engage with external partner agencies and industry stakeholders to support data integrity and quality outcomes.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a high standard of attention to detail.
* Experience using Microsoft Excel for data processing and management.
* The ability to manage a wide range of queries from diverse stakeholders.
* Sound time management and priority-setting skills, with the flexibility to take on new tasks as required.
* A collaborative approach and willingness to follow established procedures while adapting to a dynamic environment.
* Australian citizenship and willingness to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance.
Ideal Expert Summary
* Meticulous attention to detail. The ability to spot discrepancies, inconsistencies, or anomalies in large data sets is what separates good from great in data collection roles. A commitment to accuracy underpins everything.
* Exceptional stakeholder communication. They translate complex data requirements into clear, plain-English guidance for a wide range of audiences — from technical teams to senior executives and external reporting entities.
* Process-driven with an adaptable mindset. They follow frameworks and procedures with discipline but can pivot quickly when priorities shift, new data sets emerge, or regulatory requirements evolve.
* Strong Excel and data literacy. Beyond basic spreadsheet skills, they are confident analysing, cleaning, and validating data — and know when something looks wrong even before a formula flags it.
* Integrity and discretion. Working with sensitive financial and regulatory data demands a strong ethical compass. The best experts treat data security and confidentiality as non-negotiable.
