Regional Reporter Opportunity
We are seeking a talented and ambitious journalist to join our team in Geraldton. As a Regional Reporter, you will have the opportunity to cover a wide range of news stories, from hard-hitting investigative pieces to community-driven features.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and have a passion for local news. They will possess excellent writing and communication skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. A valid driver's license is also required.
Key Responsibilities
* Gathering and writing original news stories for publication in print and online platforms
* Developing positive relationships with key people and organisations
* Breaking news stories and creating engaging content
* Contributing to news planning meetings and liaising with the Editor regarding story development
* Interviewing and photographing subjects confidently and professionally
* Representing the company in a professional and courteous manner
Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must have:
* Tertiary qualifications in journalism or a similar field
* Excellent writing and communication skills
* A strong sense of urgency and focus on deadlines
* The ability to work under high pressure and be flexible with work hours
* Strong interviewing and communication skills
* A valid driver's license
