The Aboriginal Art Centre Hub of Western Australia (AACHWA) advocates on behalf of its member art centres located in regional and remote Western Australia. AACHWA delivers professional development programs for managers, boards, and artists; provides recruitment advice and services; and acts as an advocate to, and central point of contact for, Regional, State and Federal funding bodies.
About the role
AACHWA is seeking a Member Services Manager to join their dynamic team at their Perth office in a full-time fixed term (12-month) capacity.
The Member Services Manager is responsible for supporting the CEO in the delivery of key organisational strategies. Through strategic oversight, delivery of services, and the development of key resources, the Member Services Manager will uphold AACHWA's commitment to nurturing the operational success of our member centres while being responsible for developing, implementing and improving AACHWA's core business services for art centres.
The successful candidate will also work with skilled specialists (Legal, HR, Financial) to deliver a suite of professional services to art centres while working closely with the broader AACHWA team to ensure that all opportunities to build art centres' operational strengths are met.
The Member Services Manager at AACHWA will operate in a dynamic and culturally rich work environment that demands flexibility, adaptability, and a strong commitment to cultural sensitivity and community engagement. While the role will be based in Perth, it will involve travel to remote and regional parts of Western Australia.
Key functions of the role will include:
* Design, coordinate and deliver art centre services.
* Gather feedback and evaluations of member services and improve accordingly.
* Oversee and manage recruitment of art centre managers on behalf of and in collaboration with art centres; this may include application management, shortlisting, interviews, contracting and onboarding
* Facilitate and oversee organisational reviews of art centres – including financial, governance and operational.
* Work in collaboration with legal and governance support (if required) to develop contracts and templates and ensure legal compliance across all services work.
* Work in collaboration with financial support (if required) to assess financial wellbeing of art centres and provide strategic advice.
* Work in collaboration with external HR support (if required) to ensure best practice recruitment methods are in place and templates are of a best practice standard.
* Conduct art centre manager probationary reviews in collaboration with art centres.
* Provide in-person and online support to art centres for operational matters as determined by scope of services.
* In collaboration with the programming team organise and facilitate training, workshops, webinars for skills development for art centres in operational, financial, governance and other areas.
* Explore other benefits for art centres that could be centralised and managed by AACHWA as a subscription service including IT, finance, Employee Assistance Programs, etc.
* Increasing or diversifying the income of their area of responsibility.
* Management functions, including planning, direction, control, and evaluation of projects or functions. Effective and strategic management of activities.
* Advise on complex matters to internal and external stakeholders, including advice and contribution towards policy matters.
* Responsibility for budgeting and financial management, including oversight of organisational spending according to established procedures.
* Administration tasks as required.
* Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Human Resources, Business, Law or related field.
* A profound understanding of and sensitivity to Aboriginal cultures, traditions, and community dynamics.
* Experience working with Aboriginal communities and/or within an Aboriginal Corporation.
* Experience with upholding high standards of governance, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and organisational requirements, and fostering a culture of accountability and transparency.
* Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage and oversee diverse projects, including managing budgets and timelines.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders, from colleagues to Aboriginal community representatives.
* Ability to navigate and resolve conflicts and interpersonal challenges in complex environments.
* Capacity to identify challenges and develop practical, innovative solutions, particularly in the areas of organisational support and operational development.
* Experience in HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and staff reviews.
* Proficiency using Microsoft office, such as word and excel?
* Willingness to travel to and work in remote/regional areas of Western Australia
* Experience with working in the Not-for-Profit sector
* Experience in implementing and managing digital tools and platforms to enhance organisational efficiency
* Experience with budgeting, financial analysis and resource allocation, especially in relation to operational and staffing aspects
* Demonstrated experience in fundraising, relationship building and maintaining successful stakeholder relationships
* Aboriginality will be highly regarded but is not essential for the role.
* Bachelor's degree in Law would also be highly regarded.

Other Requirements:
* Must be an Australian Citizen / Permanent Resident.
* Have a National Police Clearance no more than three months old or Willingness to obtain one.
* Hold a current Working with Children Check (WWC)
* Hold a Class C drivers license;
