The Position
The Calibration Officer will ensure the routine calibration, record keeping, maintenance and suitability of test equipment for CEA.
This role will be responsible for:
* Carrying out calibration checks as required on CEA Test Equipment.
* Assisting with the coordination and record calibration and repair of asset test equipment with internal staff and external approved contractors.
* Carrying out faulty test equipment diagnosis and facilitate its repair, external to contract / warranty requirements.
* Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external calibration and test equipment suppliers.
* Providing advice and training to staff on operations, maintenance and test equipment.
* Assisting in the training of apprentice(s), when allocated rotations through the calibration facility.
* Acquiring the skills and knowledge to assist in the development of a calibration automation system.
* Engage in proficiency development and professional learning to further understanding of calibration / metrology.
* Assisting in the review and renewal of calibration contracts and CEA insurance.
* Other tasks as directed by authorised Engineer(s) within the incumbent scope of skills, knowledge and abilities.
Essential
* Minimum Certificate III in Electronics and Communications or equivalent.
* Working knowledge of test equipment and a desire to learn.
* Intermediate mechanical assembly skills and sound hand / eye coordination.
* Minimum basic skills in MS Office Suite with demonstrated competency in the use of a database.
* Ability to interpret mechanical and electronic drawings or schematics.
* Ongoing networking, independent research or extensive technical reading in order to maintain test equipment knowledge.
* Prior experience in supplier / contractor management is advantageous.

To be eligible for this position you must be:
* An Australian Citizen
* Eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance - Negative Vetting 1
The successful candidate MUST be able to obtain a clearance prior to commencement.
