We're looking for a proactive and technically skilled Assistant Building Surveyor/ Building Inspector to join our Building Services team. In this pivotal role you'll support the Building Services team in its regulatory, administrative and enforcement functions —ensuring Council meets its obligations under the Building Act 1993. What a typical day will look like;
* Conduct mandatory and enforcement inspections in accordance with the Building Act 1993 and Building Regulations 2018.
* Deliver high quality customer and technical support to Building Services, promoting the Units objectives within and external to the Shire of Nillumbik boundaries.
* Assist the Municipal Building Surveyor in meeting Council's statutory and regulatory obligations.
* Assess building permit applications for compliance and issue approvals within delegated authority.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, policy reviews, and after-hours emergency call-out services.
What you will bring to the role;
* Victorian Practition Registration as a Building Inspector Unlimited and/ or Building Surveyor Limited
* Demonstrated Experience in the functions and Obligations of an Assistant Building Surveyor/ Building Inspector.
