Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. As a Scania HGV / Truck Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing high-quality maintenance and repairs on heavy vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
* Service and Repairs: Conduct comprehensive service and repairs on heavy vehicles.
* Scheduled Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance to ensure optimal performance of heavy vehicles.
* Mechanical Fault Diagnosis: Execute detailed mechanical fault diagnosis and troubleshooting for heavy vehicle fleets.
* Repair and Maintain Equipment: Maintain and repair heavy vehicle equipment to the highest standards.
* Adherence to Safety Standards: Ensure adherence to safety standards and protocols in the workshop environment.
* Compliance with Vehicle Regulations: Follow all company policies and procedures, including WHS, HR, and heavy vehicle regulations.
Vehicles and Equipment Handled:
* Scania Prime Movers and Main Fleet: Primarily Scania trucks as part of our main fleet.
* Additional Heavy Vehicle Brands: Kenworth, Mack, Freightliner, Western Star, Volvo.
* Rigid Trucks and Specialized Vehicles: Including Tippers, Water Carts, and Forklift-carrying Crew Trucks.
Qualifications and Experience Needed:
* Certifications for Diesel Mechanics: Australian Cert III in Diesel Mechanic or Auto-Electrician, or a recognized international qualification.
* Experience as a Scania Truck Mechanic: 2-3 years of post-qualification experience in a role involving Scania truck maintenance and heavy vehicle repairs.
* Valid Driver's License: A current and valid driver's license.
* Fluency in English: Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Expertise in Scania Trucks: Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Scania trucks and HGV maintenance.
* Experience in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance: Proven track record in heavy vehicle servicing and Scania truck repairs.
* Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively and document vehicle servicing and maintenance.
* Efficient Work Practices: Ability to work efficiently on Scania trucks and manage time effectively.
* Problem Solving in Mechanical Repairs: Exceptional problem-solving skills, especially in diagnosing faults in Scania HGVs.
Benefits:
* Shift Rotations: Day shifts (0500 – 1300) or (1300 – 2300).
* Workdays and Overtime: Weekdays with one Saturday per month and overtime at 1.5x standard rate.
* Hourly Rate and Superannuation: $45.00 to $50.00 per hour, with 11.5% superannuation.
