About the role
Brice Metals, a member of the Southern Steel Group, seeks a qualified Machine Technician at their Cavan site. This is a permanent, full‐time position.
Responsibilities
* Plan and implement engineering, maintenance, and project work to maximise utilisation.
* Liaise with the production team to ensure issues with processing equipment operation are resolved efficiently.
* Utilise equipment provided to protect health and safety in the workplace.
* Install and commission CNC machinery and robot profiling machines, ensuring the equipment operates to its specifications.
* Create and conduct test procedures.
* Troubleshoot and fix issues (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and programming).
* Liaise with installation/project engineers and supervise and train engineering, maintenance and technical staff on programming and protected operation of equipment.
* Conduct preventative/corrective maintenance and repairs of CNC equipment as per maintenance schedules or as required.
* Conduct periodic inspections on equipment, investigate problems, diagnose and rectify faults.
* Provide technical and service support.
* Perform modifications (design, mechanical, electrical, and programming) of parts to improve productivity and machine performance if required.
Skills required
* Knowledge of CNC control systems and embedded systems.
* Knowledge of motion control techniques.
* Knowledge of electronic switching theory, machine and digital design, peripheral integrated circuit (PIC) microcontroller and programmable logic controller (PLC).
* Knowledge of work health and safety.
* Understanding of the requirements of ISO9001.
Salary: $70,000.00 – $79,000.00 per year.
Schedule: 8‐hour shift.
Supplemental pay: Christmas bonus.
Work authorisation: Australia (preferred).
Work location: In person.
