Join our team as a Technical Support Officer
Are you passionate about delivering high-quality IT support and resolving complex technical issues in a dynamic environment? This hands‐on role offers the opportunity to step beyond the Service Desk and support Council's corporate systems, Microsoft technologies and infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity to gain broader technical exposure and hands‐on experience across a diverse technology environment. Your responsibilities will include:
* Maintaining and supporting Council's corporate systems, including identity management, system monitoring and maintenance activities.
* Providing technical support and managing escalations from Service Desk.
* Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, including root cause analysis.
* Supporting Microsoft-based systems, applications, cloud platforms (M365) and third‐party technologies.
* Providing technical advice and support to internal teams to ensure continuity of services.
* Supporting Council Chambers and meeting room technologies, including live streaming and audio‐visual systems.
* Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of systems, infrastructure and technical initiatives.
* Participating in project work to support organisational technology outcomes.
* Deploying and configuring devices and supporting end‐user technology environments.
* Developing and maintaining technical documentation, procedures and guidelines.
Skills and experience:
* Demonstrated experience supporting Microsoft-based systems, applications and infrastructure.
* Exposure to contemporary and emerging technologies within a medium to large organisation.
* Strong problem‐solving skills, with the ability to think beyond standard procedures.
* Well‐developed communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus.
* Experience contributing to IT projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, stakeholders and service providers.
