Electrical Engineering Technician
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting pre-commissioning inspections and tests on generator systems to verify compliance with design specifications.
You will work closely with engineering teams to develop commissioning plans and procedures for generator installations. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will ensure that all electrical components, controls, and protection systems are functioning correctly.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
* Conducting pre-commissioning inspections and tests on generator systems.
* Collaborating with engineering teams to develop commissioning plans and procedures.
* Performing functional testing and troubleshooting of electrical components, controls, and protection systems.
* Coordinating with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely completion of commissioning activities.
* Generating commissioning reports and documentation detailing test results, deviations, and corrective actions.
In order to succeed in this role, you will need:
* A Diploma in Engineering Technology (Electrical) or related field experience.
* A minimum of 3 years of experience working with MTU 2000/4000 Series /CAT 3500 Series/Cummins QSK50/60, HSK78G Series generator sets and balance of the plant equipment.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and good understanding of engine controls.
* Proven experience in commissioning generator systems, preferably in a power generation or industrial setting.
* Strong knowledge of generator controls, protection relays, and synchronization systems.
* Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical specifications.
