Waste Depot Attendant – Shoalhaven City Council

This position offers a full‑time role with a competitive salary package and a wide range of opportunities across multiple sites within the Shoalhaven area.
- Salary: $60,812 – $68,355 gross per annum plus 12% superannuation and a Level 2 adverse working conditions allowance
- Hours: 38 per week (Monday to Sunday)
- Locations: Main sites include West Nowra, Huskisson, and Ulladulla; additional work may be required at Kangaroo Valley, Berry, Callala, Sussex Inlet, Bendalong, Lake Conjola, and Kioloa.

Responsibilities
- Perform waste collection, acceptance, disposal and recycling duties across transfer areas, weighbridge/gatehouse, buy‑back centres, garden organics and bulky waste pick‑ups, street and park litter bin pick‑ups, and inter‑facility waste transfer.
- Operate recycling equipment ranging from manual separation to mobile and fixed plant high‑tech sorting equipment.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and Council policies.
- Participate in daily morning and afternoon briefings, reporting safety incidents and suggesting operational improvements.
- Maintain a monthly roster covering a seven‑day‑a‑week operation.
Qualifications
- Certificate II in Waste Management, Civil Construction or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in a waste management or civil construction or maintenance environment.
- Class MR driver’s licence, or willingness to obtain one promptly.
- NSW General Induction Construction card (White Card) or willingness to obtain one promptly.
- Proof of Right to Work in Australia.
