The Oncology and Medical Day Infusion at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Nurse Unit Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

To provide nursing leadership in proactively managing and coordinating clinical practice and the provision of human, financial and material resources in accordance with organisational goals, ensuring a cost-effective nursing service focused on providing exceptional, evidence-based patient care within the Oncology and Medical Day Infusion Unit.
About the Team
The Oncology Day Unit (ODU) and Medical Day Infusions (MDI) clinical care team consists of Nursing, Medical, Allied Health and Administrative professionals providing quality-patient-centred care to Adult patients.
The ODU currently consists of 9 x treatment spaces and MDI consists of 3 x treatment spaces with the ability to flex across the two spaces to meet demand. We aim to deliver flexible, patient centred service that provides acute & non acute management for patients and carers with an aim to reduce hospitalisation. Core principals include enhanced patient flow, delivering the right care at the right time in the right setting.
Our service provides care for adult patients with an Oncology and/or Haematology diagnosis, other conditions requiring day infusion treatments. Services include acute, curative, supportive and palliative care treatments for inpatients and outpatients. Our nurses provide education, treatments, support and assistance to patients, carers and other health professionals.
