Tore Manager – Large Format / Big-Box Retail

About the Role
This is not a first Store Manager role and not a step-up from small-format retail.
We are seeking an experienced Big-Box Retail Leader to take full ownership of one of our large Shellharbour stores. This role will strongly suit current or former Store Managers, Assistant Store Managers, or Senior Department Managers from large national retailers who are ready for more autonomy and real influence.
In many large corporate retailers, Store Managers are restricted by rigid structures, constant head-office direction, and limited ability to shape their own store. This role is different.
You will have genuine autonomy, input, and authority to influence how the store is run — operating the business as if it were your own, without the financial risk or administrative burden of ownership. Strong performance is recognised and rewarded — the more you push the store, the more you can earn.
This is a full-time role involving rotating weekends.
Key Responsibilities
You will be accountable for the entire store operation, including:
* End-to-end leadership of a large retail team (recruitment, rostering, performance and development)
* Full operational control of a large-format, high-volume store
* Driving sales growth, wage control, stock accuracy and shrink reduction
* Ownership of store standards, safety, merchandising and customer experience
* Identifying efficiencies, cost controls and local growth opportunities
* Running the store with a strong business-owner mindset, not a "head-office checklist" approach

About You (Please Read Carefully)
This role is only suitable for candidates with true big-box retail experience.
To be considered, you must have:
* 5+ years' experience in large-format / big-box retail
(e.g. Coles, Woolworths, Kmart, Target, Big W, Aldi, Costco, Bunnings or similar)
* Experience managing large teams, complex rosters and high-turnover environments
* Strong commercial awareness and confidence managing sales, wages and stock
* A hands-on leadership style — present on the floor, not office-only
* Full Australian working rights and ability to pass pre-employment checks
This role is not suitable for candidates from small specialty retail, cafés, hospitality, or first-time managers.
