The role of a Senior Inventory Officer is pivotal in delivering an efficient stock management system, driving sales performance and enhancing retail experience.

This senior position entails managing the retail stock inventory from its arrival at the museum to the shop floor and online or external sales. Key responsibilities include database management, stock performance reporting, and coordinating stocktakes. Additionally, this role involves proactive stock replenishment coordination, ensuring consistent stock levels; dispatching wholesale and online sales orders; generating stock and supplier reports; updating inventory databases; and liaising with stock suppliers.

The successful candidate will be integral to the success of our dedicated exhibition, developing effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This includes collaborating closely with the EL1 Manager, Retail, and wider retail operations team, as well as working with the Finance team on stock reporting.

Key duties of the position include:

* Leading inventory coordination across multiple retail channels, ensuring timely movement of goods and maintaining stock accuracy.
* Supporting the development and delivery of retail product ranges by assisting with supplier liaison, documentation, and tracking activities.
* Assisting with procurement and contract administration processes, including purchase order raising, record maintenance, and compliance with relevant frameworks and guidelines.
* Maintaining and updating inventory at various locations, and updating sales databases to ensure data integrity and support reporting requirements for the Commercial Business Unit.
* Preparing and maintaining administrative documentation, such as meeting records, schedules, procurement logs, and inventory reports.
* Liaising with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to support operational delivery of retail and exhibition-related stock requirements.
* Contributing to research and benchmarking activities to inform product planning and support continuous improvement initiatives.
* Ensuring compliance with procurement, inventory, and record-keeping procedures in line with government and museum standards.
