Fire Safety Specialist
As a Fire Safety Specialist, you will play a critical role in safeguarding communities across Queensland. You will be part of a team that responds to emergency incidents, promotes community safety and emergency preparedness, and develops competencies through regular training exercises.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills in emergency response, community education, and firefighting techniques. They will work closely with colleagues to ensure the effective management of emergency situations and contribute to the maintenance of station facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Respond to fire and other emergency incidents as a member of a team
* Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through community education activities
* Develop and maintain competencies through regular drills and training courses
* Operate specialist firefighting equipment in a safe and effective manner
* Contribute to upkeep and hygiene of station facilities
* Ensure maintenance and repair of operational equipment and station facilities
* Support incident reporting and general station administration as required
Requirements:
* Australian Permanent Resident Status
* Manual C Class driver's licence
* Ability to live or work within a reasonable distance of auxiliary fire station
* Employer's written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable)
