Business Banking (BB) offers a wide range of services and solutions to small to medium businesses, enterprises and large corporations, regional and agribusiness customers, as well as stockbroking and margin lending services to retail customers. Recently, CBA has announced the acquisition and integration of IPSI, a modern payments and eCommerce platform which will strengthen its eCommerce capability.
The BB Line 1 Risk and Controls teams are aligned to product teams to support them in safe execution of of this complex change. You will be embedded within the eCommerce Crew, supporting the integration of IPSI and the establishment of a new end‑to‑end merchant and eCommerce capability for BB and IB&M customers. This includes effectively identifying, understanding and managing risks to ensure the business is operating within BB risk appetite.
This opportunity is for a 12 Month duration.
Do work that matters:
As a Senior Manager Risk and Control Line 1, you will be responsible for supporting the eCommerce Crew with end-to-end management of risks and compliance obligations associated with the new eCommerce proposition. Your focus will be on identifying, assessing, and managing change‑related risks across technology integration, operating model uplift, supplier dependencies, and customer migration, while enabling delivery teams to move at pace within BB's risk appetite. You will act as a trusted Line 1 advisor across design, build, integration, and go‑live phases, embedding risk thinking into delivery decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Change & Delivery Risk Leadership
Lead Line 1 risk support for the integration of IPSI into CBA, with a strong focus on delivery, transition, and implementation risk.
Identify and assess risks arising from technology integration, platform migration, operating model change, and supplier reliance. This includes reassessing and amending Business Risk Profile to reflect updated risk position.
Ensure change risks are proactively surfaced and managed across discovery, build, pilot, and scale phases.
Control Design for Change
Support the design and uplift of controls aligned to a changing risk profile, including controls for new systems, new processes, and third‑party arrangements.
Oversee Control Assessment Program (CAP) readiness for newly implemented or materially changed controls.
Issue & Incident Enablement During Delivery
Provide hands‑on support to delivery teams in identifying and managing issues and incidents during build and transition, including root cause analysis and control uplift where delivery or integration issues arise.
Ensure learnings from delivery issues are embedded into future phases of the proposition.
Risk Culture & Decision Enablement
Embed a strong risk culture within delivery squads, positioning risk as a delivery enabler rather than a gate.
Partner closely with Product, Technology, Operations, and Line 2 Risk to support timely, well‑governed decisions.
Support escalation and governance forums with clear, delivery‑focused risk insights.
We are interested in people who have:
Strong change and delivery risk experience, ideally within large‑scale technology or platform integrations.
Line 1 risk capability across operational risk, controls, issues, and change governance.
Payments, eCommerce or merchant acquiring experience, particularly in platform or ecosystem‑based models.
Comfort operating in ambiguity, with the ability to shape risk frameworks for new propositions.
Influential stakeholder engagement skills, especially within delivery and technology environments.
