**Duties and Responsibilities**
- The role will educate and engage the community to complement Council's efforts and raise awareness of key environmental issues and opportunities
- Support the delivery of the Councils Response to Climate Change Action Plan
- With support from the Team Leader and Coordinator develop, implement and review council's sustainability and climate change projects and programs.
- Provide technical and strategic advice to other departments to ensure projects and services deliver on Council's strong sustainability agenda by addressing climate change impacts, adaptation measures, integrated water management and other complex environmental matters
- Lead and/or assist in the pragmatic development, implementation and evaluation of inspiring environmental education/awareness activities and programs including both external and internal
- Use project management skills to develop, implement, and assess innovative environmental programs to reduce corporate (Council) and community environmental impacts
**Requirements and Qualifications**:
- Extensive project delivery expertise as well as the ability to think strategically, form strong networks, communicate complex information clearly, influence others and drive innovation.
- Tertiary degree in environmental science, environmental planning, environmental management, or related discipline
- Demonstrated project management skills essential with experience in the delivery and design of environmental programs
- Demonstrated skills in data analysis and problem solving to respond to environmental problems and opportunities and achieve the best possible outcomes
