About the Position
As the Executive Assistant, you will provide high level comprehensive administrative support to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor First Nations Leadership and deliver professional standards in office administration, communications, client services, financial transactions, project support and travel coordination. The role is a key contact in the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s office and requires a high level of confidentiality, initiative, discretion, judgement and the ability to interact with senior executives, client representatives, and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
The Executive Assistant will assist in the coordination of events including event planning documents, communications plan, draft guest lists, invitations, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, catering, creating running sheets and facilitating delivery of the event either in person or online.
About You
To be successful, you will require:
* Demonstrated knowledge of Australian First Nations societies and cultures, and an understanding of the issues affecting First Nations peoples in contemporary Australian society and specifically the Northern Territory.
* Completion of a Diploma in Business or a related area and/or at least two years subsequent experience in office administration, particularly executive support.
* Demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills and ability to engage effectively with senior management, staff, clients, and other stakeholders in a respectful and culturally appropriate manner.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a high-level command of English grammar, and the ability to draft correspondence, briefings, and other documentation for distribution both internally and externally.
* Demonstrated capability in managing executive operations, including diary and correspondence management, coordination of meetings and briefings, and ensuring accurate and timely follow-up of actions.
* Highly developed organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently, manage fluctuating workloads, meet deadlines, and respond effectively to changing priorities.
* Demonstrated competency in digital and administrative systems, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, records and document management systems, and online meeting and collaboration platforms.
* Ability to complete financial support tasks and willingness to learn University finance systems to facilitate payments and reconcile transactions.
* Commitment to the University’s values.
Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory National Criminal History check and NT Working with Children clearance as well as holding a current clean NT drivers licence.
Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Professional Employee Level 5. The base salary will be in the range of $75,927 - $87,716 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $88,834 - $102,627 per annum inclusive of 17% superannuation.
