We are now seeking a Specialist Accountant to join our Finance team at AngloGold Ashanti Australia. Accountable to the Director Planning and Performance, you will be an active and integral member of the Finance team, which will provide you with the opportunity to work for one of the world's leading gold mining organisations.
This position is required to assist in providing a comprehensive range of financial accounting services to the Australian region. This is a permanent position working within the Finance team based in the Perth Regional Office (with travel to our WA based mine sites when required).
The main accountabilities will include contributing to:
* Period-end reporting, including use of SAP, HFM and TM1, and quarterly deliverables to corporate head office
* Period end Corporate (Perth office) and Exploration accounting
* Monthly site physicals and financial reconciliation.
* Periodic review of mining contract costs against contract performance.
* Assisting with strategic option submissions and support the annual budget planning process.
* Provide support to ad hoc project work as required.
* Assisting with regional SOX and auditor requirements
About you

* Degree qualified in accounting/commerce
* Completed or close to completion of CA/CPA studies
* Relevant experience an advantage
* SAP experience an advantage
* Intermediate level MS Excel skills
* Full permanent working rights in Australia (Mandatory)
You need to be a good team member, have good interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work under tight time pressure. Your high attention to detail is essential.
