About the role

The role of the Business Banking Regional Manager works in a region within the State structure leading a team of Bankers to meet the needs of our existing customers in the region. They have a strong focus on building BEN's Business Banking brand internally and externally, attracting new customers and being proactive in supporting the communities in which we operate. The region will have business bankers that predominantly meet the needs of customers from $200k - $10m of Business Lending.

This role is accountable for building a localised strategy in the region and working closely with the state team to meet the organisation's strategic outcomes. In addition, the role will partner with the Consumer Regional Managers, Business Banking Specialists, and the Credit Risk Team.

**As a Regional Manager, you will**:
Lead, coach and energise the Business Banking team
Champion the one-way-same-way philosophy whilst focusing on improving customer experience
Build and maintain strong customer relationships in the region
Identify and lead business development activities that optimise our profile and growth prospects
Embed a strong transformation culture and support the business banking strategy
Manage a regional profit and loss, balance sheet and monitor risks
Workshop credit submissions with bankers and credit as required
Provide the team with meaningful business and industry insights

The role is a Senior Leader within BEN and will work closely with peers to support state region outcomes that contribute to the division's wider performance, as well as a consistent experience for Business Banking Customers. The role is based in the VIC Metro East from any of our offices in this region. We offer a hybrid work arrangement, but there is a requirement for regular travel to branches and business centres within the region.

As an experienced senior leader with strong business development and customer relationship management capability, you will be motivated by delivering exceptional experiences for your customers. Your team will value your leadership skills, your openness and track record in building their capability. Your customers will value the industry insights and strong business relationship that enhances their experience of your organisation.

Other skills and experiences that will set you up for success in this role include;
Banking and Finance industry experience
Demonstrated leadership experience in banking or financial services
Exposure to complex business lending and credit risk principles
Practical understanding of advanced accredited lending requirements
Business development, prospecting and sales expertise
Ability to network and maintain productive professional relationships with a variety of stakeholders
Financial analysis skills, including the ability to analyse and interpret financial statements
Experience in credit analysis and writing in small to medium enterprise lending
FSRA Accreditation T2
Driver's licence
Tertiary qualifications in business or finance related discipline

This team manages all our business customer needs and interactions including working with our distribution partners in branches, digital and consumer connection as well as our partners in operations to support our existing customers to grow and to attract new customer to BEN's Business Banking proposition. The team has bankers in the field as well as a virtual specialist team to support bankers to have more time with customers. We are regionally aligned to ensure we have a personal relationship and closeness to the customers we support and the communities we want to help grow.
