Recovery Support Worker
The Western Sydney Mental Health Services team is seeking a Recovery Support Worker to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting consumers in their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide support, advocacy, and guidance to consumers in inpatient settings.
* Work after hours, weekends, and public holidays as part of the team.
* Promote hope, empowerment, and recovery through individual and group activities.
* Assist in service co-design, policy development, and consumer feedback initiatives.
* Engage in education, collaboration, and professional development within the organization.
Requirements:
* Demonstrated understanding of the scope of a mental health recovery support worker role and ability to provide a supportive service with the consumer at the center of care.
* Demonstrated examples of adaptability, honesty, authenticity, willingness to learn, and being non-judgmental to assist you to validate and listen as essential skills in the recovery support worker role.
* Have your own lived and living experience of mental ill health and demonstrated recovery strategies including using mental health services as well as identifying as a mental health consumer.
* Ability and commitment to work after hours and alternate Saturday and Sunday weekend work, including public holidays.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and with reporting structures and work as part of the recovery support team and multidisciplinary teams.
* Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills, including the use of Microsoft office and online platforms e.g., teams.
