About the role
The Program Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the delivery of Boating Careers initiatives across Victoria, helping connect students, job seekers, and educators with career pathways in the boating and marine industry.
This is a hands-on role supporting career expos, industry immersion days, boat show activations, and workforce engagement programs. It suits someone who enjoys event coordination, stakeholder engagement, and working in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment.
Key responsibilities
* Career Expo & Event Coordination
* Plan, coordinate, and support Boating Careers' participation at career expos and student engagement events across Victoria
* Develop and manage event schedules, calendars, and logistics
* Coordinate event materials, signage, displays, and collateral
* Represent Boating Careers at events, engaging directly with students, teachers, parents, and job seekers
* Promote industry immersion days and marine career pathways
* Manage lead capture processes, engagement data, and follow-up workflows
* Ensure a consistent, high-quality brand presence at all events
Boat Show & Education Hub Support
* Support BIAV boat show activations, including coordination of the Boating Careers Education Hub
* Assist with preparation, logistics, registrations, signage, and schedules
* Support on-site delivery, student engagement, and exhibitor interactions
* Assist with capturing photos, video, and content for digital communications
* Support follow-up communications and reporting
* Provide support for the Apprentice of the Year program and related activities
Communications & Administration Support
* Support BIAV and Boating Careers digital communications and enquiries
* Assist with email communications and stakeholder follow-up
* Collate photos, videos, stories, and engagement data from events
* Maintain records of participation numbers, feedback, and outcomes for reporting

* Confident working with schools, teachers, young people, and employers

* Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to manage multiple events, priorities, and deadlines
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
* Basic digital content creation skills
* Social media and website editing experience (desirable)
* Knowledge of boating, fishing, marine lifestyle or the boating industry (highly regarded)
* Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
Qualifications & experience
* Relevant qualifications or experience in Events, Business, Communications, Digital Marketing, Community Engagement, or a related field
* Experience in employment services, apprenticeship support networks, Workforce Australia programs, or vocational education and training (VET) environments is highly regarded
