An opportunity is now available for a Principal Cultural Heritage Officer with high level leadership and cultural heritage management expertise to the organisation. In the role of Principal Cultural Heritage Officer, you will provide high level specialist advice on cultural heritage policy, methodologies, and standards both within and external to the department. You will also manage and implement cultural heritage processes and procedures for input into the delivery of the Region\'s contribution to the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP), ensuring projects are not delayed while remaining compliant with state and federal legislation.
Responsibilities
* Demonstrated ability to anticipate and respond to emerging cultural heritage issues, deliver strategic whole of government advice, and identify opportunities to align solutions with broader TMR priorities.
* Proven experience leading strong operational and strategic relationships with Traditional Owner Groups, including effective consultation, negotiation, and development of Cultural Heritage Management Agreements.
* Ability to provide expert cultural heritage advice, including high level guidance on policies, methodologies and standards, while managing performance matters using best practice approaches and analysing complex technical information across multiple systems.
* Utilise exceptional stakeholder engagement skills to build and maintain effective relationships across TMR and with external agencies to support effective cultural heritage management.
