Marine Trade Supplies is looking for a technically minded individual to join our team. This isn't just a retail job; it's a role for someone who loves boating and helping people as much as the \"thrill of the sale.\"

You will be working with Superyacht Captain's and crew, The best marine painters in the business, marine business owners and staff, right through to boat owners and retail customers.
The Thrill of the Sale
No two days are the same here. You'll enjoy the variety of a role where you might be:
* Helping a customer choose their perfect Highfield boat.
* Sourcing a high-end anchor and chain for a coastal cruiser or Superyacht.
* Specifying a 12/24v fridge/freezer system for a custom off-grid setup.
* Consulting with a marine electrician to fit out a vessel with a premium Hella marine lighting solution.
* Performing technical sales for bilge pumps, water systems, and marine plumbing.
The Role: Special Orders & Technical Solutions
While you will be a key part of our busy showroom, your primary value lies in your ability to act as a technical resource. You will be the \"bridge\" between a customer's problem and the right solution, utilizing your research skills and our extensive network of supplier experts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Technical Sourcing: Expertly navigating supplier portals, digital catalogues, and product specialists to find the right hardware for unique boat configurations.
* Collaborative Problem Solving: Proactively utilizing our supplier representatives and in-house technical staff to offer expert advice and specialized solutions. These specialists can make you look good, they know thier product and they can quote you up a solution very efficiently that you can offer to our customers.
* Special Orders Management: Managing the lifecycle of a sale at our dedicated desk—from initial research and quotes to placing orders and final invoicing.
* Enterprise Software: Using our parts-based software system to manage inventory and track special orders with precision.
What We Are Looking For
We need a staff member who is comfortable with technical data and has the confidence to \"talk shop\" with trade professionals.
* Advanced Computer Literacy (Crucial): You must be highly proficient in navigating complex software and web-based supplier interfaces.
* Technical Mindset: You enjoy cross-referencing specifications and won't stop until you find the exact part required.
* Initiative & Communication: The ability to communicate effectively with retail customers, professional contractors, and external brand reps.
* Marine Industry Passion: A strong understanding of boating systems, marine paints, or electronics is highly preferred.
* Reliability: A consistent work ethic and a desire to grow within a fast-paced, 15-person team.
