Our Broadcast Operations team is the engine room of the Foxtel Group. We are currently recruiting a Casual Master Control Room (MCR) Coordinator who will be responsible for the management of all incoming and outgoing signals, both full-time channels and adhoc live events for Foxtel, Fox Sports and Kayo.
Reporting to the MCR Manager, your role will be for maintaining communication with internal and external departments and relationships with international parties, ensuring the team deliver all scheduled requirements for Broadcast, Production and Digital.
Your responsibilities
* Configure, test, and monitor all inbound channels, circuits, and live services 24/7
* Rectify faults promptly and manage alternate signal paths to minimise on-air outages
* Coordinate with external partners regarding transmission platforms and outages
* Liaise with internal teams including Engineering, Production, and Presentation
* Verify video, audio, and phase levels for itinerant feeds and Outside Broadcast connections
* Establish communications and set up crosses with Outside Broadcasts and Studios
* Create discrepancy reports and document any signal path or quality issues accurately
* Complete daily checks of services and escalate outstanding equipment faults
* Assist the channel change team with platform changes and train new staff on processes
* Work on a 24/7 shift pattern including overnights and weekends
What We're Looking For
* Good knowledge and understanding of the operating principles of a television station in order to manage all aspects of the Broadcast building and its functions around the clock
* Capability to manage various aspects of a broadcast building and its functions
* Ability to remain calm and resolve complex technical issues under pressure
* Reliable, flexible and proactive and have good attention to detail.
* Enthusiastic self-starter who is happy to work proactively, both autonomously and in a team
* Extremely organised, process oriented, can multi-task, and can work quickly whilst delivering quality outcomes to tight deadlines (or even ahead of time!)
* You have a wide knowledge and interest of content across TV, movies and sport
