The Housing Industry Association is Australia's peak residential building industry body, providing member services, industry advocacy and training for a range of building trade qualifications.
HIA is currently seeking a Skills Centre Coordinator to assist in administration and day to day operations associated with the delivery of accredited training.
The successful candidate must have well developed communication skills, be able to work as part of a small team and be flexible in completing a wide range of administrative and reporting tasks.
This role is an opportunity to engage and introduce new entrants to the construction industry to the recognised trade callings and provide pathways to apply meaningful credit in a construction industry Australian Apprenticeship.
The role offers continuous contact with industry and association members and is an opportunity to contribute to future growth of the HIA Learning business.
Key responsibilities include:
* Student recruitment and onboarding
* Student management
* Liaising with trainers
* Day to day co-ordination of training delivery
* Training administration and reporting
* Liaising with external stakeholders
The successful applicant will require:
* High level of interpersonal and communication and administrative skills
* Well-developed organisational and time management skills
* Ability to foster and develop work relationships
* Self-motivated and able to work independently
* Strong focus on customer service
* Experience in the use of student management systems eg. VETtrak
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Current driver's license
* Communication skills to build and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders
The following would be advantageous, but not mandatory:
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
* Understanding of ASQA standards + RTO compliance highly desirable
* An understanding of the VET sector and training packages, particularly the CPC Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package.
* Experience within the building and construction industry.
