Overview
The Senior Engineer plays a key role in delivering innovative tailings and pipeline solutions for customers. Working across consultancy and R&D projects, you will transform complex test data into high‐quality, practical designs while partnering with a supportive engineering team.

What you'll do
* Lead consultancy and R&D projects aligned to customer needs, delivering high‐quality, innovative technical solutions.
* Execute projects through data analysis, process design (separation, dewatering, pipelines, backfill), and clear technical reporting.
* Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers, collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Act as the primary client contact, managing relationships and ensuring project scope, quality, and delivery expectations are met.
* Ensure SHEQ compliance and a safety‐first culture while delivering practical solutions on time, primarily based at the Weir Technical Centre.
What you'll bring
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Process, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical or Metallurgical) with exposure to rheology, hydraulics, or particulate solids transport.
* 5–10 years' engineering experience within mining, minerals processing, or related industries, particularly across separation, dewatering, or solids transport systems.
* Proven ability to analyse complex technical data and translate findings into practical, fit‐for‐purpose engineering solutions.
* Hands‐on knowledge of process equipment such as pumps, cyclones, centrifuges, and thickeners.
* Strong technical communication skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, CAD, and professional report writing and presentations.
* Postgraduate qualifications, Chartered Engineer status, team leadership experience, or programming capability (e.g., VBA or C) will be highly regarded.
