About the Role
HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced Leader Commercial to join a high-performing team within a local council-owned utility. This role will oversee commercial and financial risk management for a $300M+ infrastructure portfolio, ensuring optimal contract performance and strategic procurement outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead cost tracking and expenditure control across the portfolio and division
* Manage and assure performance of major infrastructure contracts (~$300M p.a.)
* Provide commercial analysis and recommendations to optimise resource use
* Oversee contract documentation and digital contract management systems
* Deliver contract and internal process assurance reviews
* Identify and mitigate commercial risks and capitalise on opportunities
* Lead and motivate a team aligned with organisational goals and values
* Drive continuous improvement across contract and division operations
About You
* Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Project Management, Engineering, Legal or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
* 6-10 years' experience in a senior commercial role, ideally within infrastructure or utilities
* Proven expertise in managing large-scale infrastructure contracts and financial analysis
* Strong understanding of contract KPIs, claims assessment, and cost control frameworks
* Experience with Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) or similar delivery models
* Familiarity with asset-based work breakdown structures and digital contract systems
* Demonstrated leadership in planning and resource management
* Knowledge of utility sector trends and commercial best practices
