We have a unique opportunity for a motivated Quality Professional to join and lead the team at Lenah Valley, Tasmania

The Role
Our Lenah Valley site in Hobart manufactures a range of more than 50 milk, milk-based and cream products, with all products made from fresh milk sourced directly from Tasmanian dairy farms. The site currently produces around 33 million litres of product every year, operating 6 days a week and employing around 50 people.
We are seeking a technically strong Quality and Environmental professional, ideally with food or beverage manufacturing experience. While experienced leaders are preferred, we are also willing to consider technically capable candidates who are ready to take the next step into leadership.
In this role, you will lead a team of 4 and oversee the Quality Management System at our Lenah Valley site, encompassing food safety, hygiene, environmental monitoring, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and compliance programs.
You will drive continuous improvement across quality processes and systems, as well as foster a strong, site‑wide quality culture and ensure the site remains audit‑ready at all times.
Responsibilities
* Developing, implementing and maintaining environmental and quality management systems (QMS) and procedures to comply with industry standards and customer expectations.
* Support the team in monitoring quality performance and driving continuous improvement of key KPIs (e.g. GMP, corrective actions, consumer and trade complaints)
* Lead the internal audit program, including GMP audits, and oversee non‑compliance management and corrective actions plans
* Oversee investigations and resolution of significant quality issues both internally and with vendors, collaborating closely with the national Head of Quality
* Manage and control change activities for effectiveness and continual improvement. Provide monthly reports to drive improvement within process.
About you
* Strong technical experience in quality, food safety, and environmental systems or compliance within the Food & Beverage or Pharmaceutical manufacturing industries is essential (experience in dairy is highly regarded, but not mandatory).
* Expert knowledge of HACCP and GMP is required. Experience with BRC, FSSC, or similar quality management systems is preferred.
* Ideally, you will bring proven experience in quality leadership, however we are also open to considering a technically capable candidate who is earlier in their career and willing to grow into the role.
* A strong team ethic is essential, along with the ability to build collaborative and supportive relationships.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
