Indigenous Genomics Network Opportunity
This role is specifically designed for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander individuals who are passionate about working with Indigenous communities and advancing the field of genomics.
About the Role
* The Queensland Node Coordinator will be responsible for establishing a jurisdictional node to support the development of a National Roadmap for Pharmacogenomics in Indigenous communities.
* Key deliverables include:
o Establishing local Indigenous governance structures;
o Consultation, engagement, and involvement of partners and stakeholders;
o Participation in National Network activities;
o Developing and coordinating workforce development initiatives with stakeholders;
o Supporting the development of local and national Indigenous genomic policies.
Requirements
* A minimum of four years of relevant experience in business administration, project management, biomedical science, public or population health, health research, policy, and/or Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander studies;
* Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, peoples, families, communities, service providers, and organizations;
* A proven track record in conducting or supporting research involving Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, peoples, and communities;
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience working with and for Indigenous interests and stakeholders.
