Aviation and Environmental Project Delivery Manager
This position will lead the delivery of aviation and environmental weather monitoring projects for Campbell Scientific across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region and be based in Townsville, Queensland, Australia. The role is responsible for end-to-end project delivery, stakeholder coordination, technical oversight, and tender support for aviation weather and environmental monitoring solutions.
This position provides on-site project delivery support for the Australian office and works closely with internal teams, international offices, external partners, aviation authorities, and clients across the region to ensure successful implementation of aviation weather projects.
Essential Functions
* Play a key role in delivering projects in alignment with Campbell Scientific's ARCTIC values – Accountability, Respect, Client-Centric, Teamwork, Innovation, and Continuous Improvement.
* Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of aviation and environmental weather projects, ensuring scope, schedule, quality, and budget requirements are met.
* Demonstrate strong experience delivering Campbell Scientific AERO Aviation Weather Solutions, including system design, deployment, commissioning, and operational handover.
* Provide technical oversight and hands-on expertise with Campbell Scientific hardware and software, including system configuration, data acquisition, integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
* Manage and coordinate internal and external stakeholders including engineering teams, suppliers, aviation authorities, clients, and regulatory bodies to successfully deliver aviation weather projects.
* Support and lead responses to GBON SOFF hardware tenders, including technical documentation, compliance requirements, solution design, and coordination with internal teams.
* Work closely with sales, engineering, and operations teams to ensure project requirements are clearly defined and delivered to customer expectations.
* Monitor project risks, issues, and dependencies, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
* Ensure project documentation, reporting, and communication meet internal governance and client requirements.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to project delivery, technical standards, and customer satisfaction.
Required Education and Relevant Experience
* 3–5 years of experience in project delivery or project management, preferably within aviation, environmental monitoring, or meteorological systems.
* Demonstrated experience delivering aviation weather or environmental monitoring projects.
* Proven experience with Campbell Scientific AERO systems and related aviation weather solutions.
* Experience responding to GBON SOFF hardware tenders or similar international weather observation tenders is highly desirable.
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, project management, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Required Technical and Functional Skills
* Strong technical knowledge of Campbell Scientific hardware and software platforms.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
* Project planning, coordination, and reporting skills.
* Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and related applications.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a client-focused mindset.
