The Department of Health, Tasmania invites applications for the Manager, Emergency Management and Special Operations.
Responsibilities
* Provide overall leadership of the ambulance response to a major incident or significant event under the direction of the Chief Executive.
* Establish and facilitate objectives for the ambulance response to a major incident or significant event.
* Manage the provision of services by the Ambulance Tasmania Emergency Operations Centre (ATEOC).
* Refer applicants to the Statement of Duties for all selection criteria.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated understanding of contemporary management practices, with high level management skills including the ability to manage human, financial and physical resources, to monitor efficiency and effectiveness, and to achieve results.
* High level understanding of contemporary emergency management frameworks, methodologies and their underpinning acts and regulations.
* High level communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills including an ability to represent Ambulance Tasmania, explain its goals, policies, products and services and to identify and negotiate mutually acceptable solutions in situations of differing interests.

Details of Appointment
Permanent full‑time, day worker (with on‑call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants note that, for a period of 12 months from publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full‑time, part‑time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$139,470 to $148,863 per annum. Employer superannuation contribution 12% on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Eligibility
* Tertiary qualifications in emergency management.
* Qualifications in Leadership.
* Qualification and/or experience in incident management, particularly the Australasian Inter‑Service Incident Management System (AIIMS) or Major Incident Medical Management System (MIMMS).
* Current Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance.
* Current Drivers Licence.
