About Our Work and Study Specialist Role
The purpose of this role is to implement a vocational and educational support program for young people with barriers to employment and/or education.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Work and Study model to support young people in achieving their vocational and/or education goals.
* Conduct assertive outreach work combined with excellent youth engagement skills to ensure young people are well-supported and linked to suitable employment opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience:
* A minimum Cert IV qualification and/or experience in employment services, vocational rehabilitation, youth work, career development or a related field.
* A proven passion and experience working closely with young people and an understanding of factors affecting young people when accessing employment.
* Practical knowledge and understanding of issues experienced by people with mental ill health.
* A comprehensive knowledge of the employment services sector, Service NSW and other state and federal employment initiatives that impact young people.
