Job Title: Community Support Worker
Our organisation is dedicated to enriching the lives of people with disability by creating choice and control. As a Support Worker within our shared living team, you will play an essential role in supporting and empowering people with disability to live a life of their choosing.
The key focus of this role is to support clients to live as independently as possible by assisting with activities of daily living, including menu planning, cooking, and cleaning. You will also provide personal care support and assistance with medication as needed.
You will work to behaviour support plans by utilising positive behaviour strategies and communicate with families about clients' progress. We are seeking someone who is passionate about making a difference and wants to contribute to providing exceptional support to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide support and empowerment to individuals with disability to live a life of their choosing
* Assist with daily living activities such as menu planning, cooking, and cleaning
* Provide personal care support and assistance with medication as needed
* Work to behaviour support plans using positive behaviour strategies
* Communicate with families about clients' progress
Requirements:
* Experience in the Disability sector
* Mental health experience advantageous
* Ability to support others with personal and hygiene care
* Personal qualities of resilience, empathy, and self-confidence
* High levels of enthusiasm, initiative, and a positive attitude while acting with integrity, honesty, and respect
* Drivers license and vehicle required
