**The role**
We have an exciting new position for a Purchasing and Sourcing Manager to join our Crown Melbourne team. Tasked with developing and implementing Purchasing strategies as well as provide leadership to the team as part of the Site Purchasing team. You will drive execution of group and site-based sourcing strategies at an operational and property level with a focus on operations management and excellence. you will be responsible for;
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure efficient, cost-effective procurement of goods and services for new requirements where there is no contracted supply.
- Manage the implementation of sourcing projects at site and operational level in accordance with the Group Procurement pipeline of work.
- Deliver tactical sourcing activities by obtaining quotes, supplier selection and negotiation for new requirements.
- Assist Business Units in maintaining budget targets with identifying suitable sourcing options from existing contracts or alternative sources, considering total cost of business, without compromising product quality or service
- Visit business units periodically to gain a better understanding of product and service offering needs and take action or seek group Procurement guidance on issues presented, advice to maximise commercial outcomes.
**About you**
To be successful in this role you will be a passion leader who has experience managing relatively large teams with a focus on developing capability and excellent levels of service. You will have a strong background in hospitality/restaurant purchasing with proven experience of driving results. You will also have;
- A business/commerce/economics or finance degree would be beneficial
- Leadership mentoring and coaching skills
- Excellent supplier management skills and proven experience delivering product sourcing strategies.
- able to identify and deliver sustained cost saving and cost containment opportunities
- Well-developed communication and presentations skills, able to influence at all levels internally and externally.
- Excellent communication and presentation, as well as strong negotiating and influencing ability
