About the Role Based at our Global Headquarters in Adelaide, the Principal Treasury Adviser provides strategic support and meticulous attention to detail to enhance the Treasury function.The Principal Treasury Adviser will drive optimal outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of risk management, compliance, and responsiveness in a dynamic operational landscape, aligned with Santos values and the Santos Management System (SMS)Key accountabilities include: Providing strategic advice and support including evaluation of long term borrowing strategies and preparation of recommendations in relation to capital management and liquidityLeading the negotiation, execution and management of activities related to credit agreements including bank loans, bank guarantees and fixed income debt issuanceCredit rating agency management, including preparation for annual rating reviews. Monitoring of credit rating metrics and reviewing published results from the rating agenciesReviewing commercial agreements and preparation of Treasury counterparty risk analysisDelivering credit risk management including monitoring of existing exposures, evaluation of new or potential exposures, limit management and reportingOverseeing administration of Treasury management system (Reval) and transactional banking platform(s) including establishment and continued improvementIntercompany loans – ensuring loan agreements are current and assisting with preparation of new agreementsAssisting with delivery of all other Treasury function activities as required and/or directed including functional support for business unit activities and growth projectsAbout YouYou should possess substantial expertise in treasury, banking, or finance, along with outstanding strategic thinking and advisory abilities.Your ability to strategically engage and deliver results, exemplified by your proficiency in report writing at CFO level, underscores not just your proactive initiative but also your steadfast commitment to providing comprehensive and astute analysis and guidance.ExperienceEssential:Significant experience in a treasury, banking or financial backgroundExperience in debt instruments and/or market risk managementDemonstrable ability to write professional and highly detailed briefsDesirable:Experience working in an oil and gas company or financial institutionExperience with Project FinanceQualificationsTertiary/degree qualified in Finance, Economics and/or AccountingCA/CPA/CFA qualified
