We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team supporting the cutting edge MQ-28 program.
In this role, you will be an integral part of the Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) Quality function and the growing MQ-28 program, responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving Boeing's quality system.
Boeing is advancing aerospace and manufacturing with a new facility in Toowoomba, QLD, supporting the first military aircraft designed, engineered, and manufactured in Australia in over 50 years.
This role involves supporting the qualification of new products and processes at this facility.
The first prototype, the Loyal Wingman, flew in 2021, representing Boeing's first military aircraft developed outside the U.S., utilizing advanced systems to enhance platform capabilities.
In this role you will:
Lead integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of program processes and documentation Develop quality metrics, certification plans, and ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements Develop quality criteria, conduct capability assessments, and validate processes for supplier selection Develop and select analysis, testing, and audit methods to ensure manufacturing and test readiness Support the qualification of first-of-type products at the new Toowoomba facility Prepare and produce First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) Facilitate Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for new production parts Collaborate with the wider Quality team, reporting on metrics and findings Support Quality Production Specialists Perform benchmarking and analysis to achieve process capability levels This role may require travel between Brisbane, Melbourne, Wacol, and Toowoomba for training and familiarity purposes.
Highly desirable qualifications and experience:
Hands-on experience in aerospace or similar advanced assembly/fabrication environments Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related disciplines We seek team members who embrace our company's values and are willing to innovate.
