Located 30km south of Perth, NewGen Power Kwinana (NPK) is one of Western Australia's largest and most advanced power plants. Using new technologies, we operate a 330MW, combined-cycle, gas-fired power station and have the capacity to supply 10 percent of the state's energy needs.
We are seeking an experienced Operations & Maintenance Technician to join our team at NPK, in a flexible job-share arrangement (21 hours per week).
This role is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient day-to-day operation and maintenance of the NPK Power Station, ensuring plant performance meets operational forecasts and requirements.
This role operates on a rotating operational roster, including day and night shifts. The job-share arrangement will align to the site's operational roster requirements.
Responsibilities
* Perform Operator/Maintainer duties to support safe and efficient plant operations
* Respond to plant trips and unplanned outages to restore service quickly
* Monitor control systems, manage alarms and complete operational logs
* Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) faults
* Perform preventative and corrective maintenance
* Raise and manage work requests in the CMMS
* Supervise contractors and operate within Permit to Work systems
* Contribute to plant optimisation and continuous improvement

You will bring
* DCS and PLC familiarity (advantageous)
* Strong fault-finding capability across electrical, mechanical and control systems
* Experience working within Permit to Work processes and systems
* Good communication and organisational skills
Qualifications
* Electrical Trade Certificate (essential)
* WA 'A Grade' Electrical Workers Licence (desirable)
* Certificate IV Engineering Instrumentation (advantageous)
* High Risk Work Licence – Intermediate Boiler & Turbine Operation (desirable)
