About the role
Join Are Media's dynamic Content team as a Copy Editor in this permanent part-time position. You'll be responsible for ensuring editorial excellence across Are Media's diverse portfolio of brands, working with high-quality content that reaches millions of readers. This is an exciting opportunity to shape compelling narratives while maintaining the distinctive voice and standards that define Are Media's premium publications, all while enjoying the work-life balance that comes with permanent part-time employment.
Duties
Content Review & Editing: Copy edit articles, features, and digital content for grammar, style, accuracy, and brand consistency across multiple publications
Quality Assurance: Proofread final content before publication, ensuring all materials meet Are Media's editorial standards and legal requirements
Brand Voice Management: Maintain consistency in tone, style, and messaging across different Are Media brands and platforms
Fact-Checking: Verify information, sources, and references to ensure content accuracy and credibility
Digital Content Optimization: Edit content for SEO best practices and digital-first publishing requirements
Collaboration: Work closely with writers, editors, and production teams to meet tight deadlines and publication schedules
Style Guide Adherence: Apply and maintain Are Media's house style guidelines and contribute to their ongoing development
Cross-Platform Editing: Adapt content for various formats including print, digital, social media, and newsletters
Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or related field
Minimum 3-5 years of copy editing experience, preferably in publishing or media
Exceptional command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Proficiency in content management systems and digital publishing platforms
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
Experience with AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, or similar editorial guidelines
