Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.  

In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions.  HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees.


Job Description



The Health Services Manager plays a pivotal role in leading and managing a multidisciplinary team to deliver healthcare services within immigration detention settings. This position is responsible for ensuring that care is effective, high quality, and responsive to the needs of patients, with a strong focus on achieving positive health outcomes. This position is based in Yongah Hill Immigration Detention Centre, located approximately 90km northeast of Perth.

This is an exceptional opportunity to establish and lead a newly formed team, setting a strong foundation for collaboration, inclusion, and high performance. You’ll champion innovation, promote creative problem-solving, and drive continuous improvement, while cultivating a positive, resilient, and growth-focused team culture where individuals feel genuinely supported and heard.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for building team capability through effective coaching, mentoring, and strategic talent development. You’ll also work cross-functionally to align objectives, eliminate barriers, and ensure the seamless execution of key initiatives. We offer an orientation and induction period of up to eight weeks to support your transition into the role.

Join us in bringing a new approach to medical and wellbeing care for detainees by: 

* Leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the primary healthcare services in the detention facility.
* Managing resources in a flexible and efficient manner to effectively meet business and workflow requirements, including but not limited to scheduling, rostering, and resource allocation to ensure timely, responsive and appropriate service delivery and continuity of care.
* Adopting and promoting a culture of Continuous Quality Improvement by leading, implementing and championing change.
* Inspiring and engaging team members by fostering a culture of continuous improvement, motivation, and mentorship.
* Actively participating in risk management and quality improvement systems to enhance service delivery and outcomes.
* Supporting the development of an organisational culture that prioritises proactive risk identification and mitigation.

You will hold relevant


qualifications

and experience, including a Bachelor of Nursing degree, with a minimum of five years’ post-graduate clinical experience in a relevant field. Additionally, you will have at least five years’ experience in leadership or management roles within a complex healthcare environment. Current AHPRA registration in Nursing or another relevant clinical profession is required, without any conditions.
