Support Specialist for People Living with Dementia
The role of a Support Specialist is to deliver high-quality services and support families, caregivers, and clinical staff in understanding the impact of dementia on individuals. This requires equipping carers and clinicians with knowledge, skills, and resources to prevent and respond to behaviour changes through modelling, coaching, and development of tailored support plans.
* Assess individual needs and develop contextualized reports to drive change and improve quality of life for people living with dementia.
* Work collaboratively to build capability across the home and aged care sectors, promoting best practices and evidence-based approaches.
* Contribute to research, projects, and programs that innovate and meet the evolving needs of the sector.
Requirements
* Expertise in supporting people living with dementia.
* Experience in Australian residential aged care or community aged care.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship building skills.
* Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities.
* Relevant qualification in Allied Health, Nursing, Aged Care, or Mental Health.
