Overview
We are seeking an Allied Health Professional CMH (Huntingtons Disease) role. The position will also be advertised for a qualified Clinical Nurse and the role will be filled on a merit basis. As a Huntington's Disease Clinician, you'll step into a specialised role where your expertise matters, with autonomy to shape care pathways and deliver tailored interventions. You'll support individuals and families navigating Huntington's Disease, coordinating care across community, inpatient, and outpatient settings within a dynamic multidisciplinary team.

The Team
The team within the Department of Health Tasmania supports individuals affected by Huntington's Disease through the Community Mental Health (CMH) program. This multidisciplinary team includes registered nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, and support workers who collaborate to deliver holistic, patient-centred care.
Role requirements and what we're looking for
Extensive experience in case management and working with individuals with complex neurological or mental health conditions
Knowledge of Huntington's Disease or a willingness to develop in-depth knowledge
Knowledge of the National Disability Scheme or a willingness to develop in-depth knowledge
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across services
Ability to provide therapeutic interventions, education, support to individuals and families, and other service providers
Commitment to career development, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice
Current driver's licence and willingness to travel within the community as required
Proficiency in clinical documentation, report writing, and multidisciplinary coordination
Details of appointment
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours negotiable with the successful applicant.
Salary and benefits
Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum. Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.
Salary Packaging: You'll have access to salary packaging including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year, plus other benefits if eligible.
Allowances: Access to future salary beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme. Other allowances may include Professional Development Allowance up to $1,000 per annum and travel-related or region-specific allowances.

Travel and relocation assistance up to $15,000 for eligible overseas appointees and up to $10,000 for interstate appointees

Eligibility
Successful applicants must meet essential criteria and continue to meet them throughout employment.
Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional qualification/program and registration with the relevant National Board or full membership/eligibility with the relevant professional association
Registration/licence must remain current and valid; status may be checked during employment
Desirable
Current Driver's Licence
Post-graduate experience in mental health related to OPMHS and/or other Mental Health Services and/or Dementia and/or Huntington's Disease
Position features

Some intrastate and interstate travel may be required
