Position Details

Classification: ANU Officer 7 (Research)

Salary package: $107,850 to $113,252 per annum plus 17% superannuation

Terms: Full Time, Fixed Term (up to 30 June 2028)

The Position

The Process Engineer will provide device fabrication support to users of the ANFF ACT Node facilities, such as epitaxial growth facilities, plasma etching/deposition tools, focus ion beam, atomic layer deposition tool, sputter deposition, electron beam lithography systems and nanoimprint lithography system. This includes training of new users, maintaining the research equipment and developing new processes as required. This position requires interaction with students, professional and academic staff across the University, and with colleagues from the broader ANFF network.

The Person

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in device fabrication within a cleanroom environment and be capable of operating and maintaining complex scientific equipment. They will work closely with researchers and external stakeholders and will communicate effectively and concisely within a diverse team environment. The role also provides guidance, training and supervision of users in the operation of scientific research equipment and will be familiar and comfortable with WH&S procedures in a laboratory environment.
